BREB delegates were treated with a tour of the Rutgers Cogeneration Plan on Busch Campus. The Cogeneration Plant at Rutgers powers both Busch and Livingston Campuses using 3 fuel-fuel five-megawatt turbines. Upgrades are expected soon to further reduce emissions and increase technical efficiency.

On Cook Campus, the Rutgers University Center for Ocean Observing Leadership introduced the delegates to the RUCOOL laboratory and fleet of Slocum Gliders. REI member and Director of Atmospheric Research Joseph Brodie led the group through a comprehensive primer regarding offshore wind in the U.S.

Clinton Andrews, Director of Rutgers Center for Green Building, welcomed the BREB delegation to Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy, with a presentation and frank discussion about the importance of energy efficiency and green construction.
